SME FUND 2026 from European Union

In 2026, the European Union is once again making a strong commitment to innovation and business competitiveness. This year, SMEs have a strategic opportunity to protect their intellectual property assets: trademarks, designs, patents, and plant varieties. The EUIPO has launched the SME FUND 2026 support program, which significantly reduces the costs of registering and managing IP rights, making it easier for more companies to safeguard their creations.

The fund offers subsidies of up to 75%, with particularly attractive amounts for those who wish to take the step towards solid and professional protection:

  • Up to €2,500 allocated to European patents, including legal costs of drafting and filing the application.
  • Up to €1,000 for patent protection in Spain.
  • Up to €700 for trademark and design registrations, both national and European Union.
  • Up to €1,500 to protect plant varieties, a fundamental asset in the agricultural, food and biotechnology sectors.

In a globalized and digital market, where innovation cycles are accelerating, protecting your intangible assets is not just a legal matter: it’s a strategic decision. A distinctive brand, an original design, or a solid patent can be the difference between growth and falling behind, between leading and being imitated. This year, thanks to the SME FUND 2026 grant program, taking this step is easier and more accessible than ever.

At PADIMA, as specialists in intellectual property for more than 27 years, we accompany small and medium-sized enterprises throughout the entire process: from analyzing what should be protected, to correctly requesting aid and managing registrations with a strategic vision and legal security.
